How did you get into debt?
How does your economic reality effect your art?
I wake up with anxiety each day and am forced to contend with the constant burden of wondering: should I stop living my dream of making art full-time? I am wracked with doubt about how to move forward in my career without sinking deeper into debt. Being an artist is two full-time jobs in one: there is the creation process and there is the art-business which involves applications, proposals, gallery and exhibition research, self-marketing, etc. I do my best to shield my art from these stressors but it certainly affects my headspace far too often.
Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
Quite possibly. Being in debt limits the materials I work with.
