How does your economic reality effect your art?
It scales down work and thoughts to a more realistic financial level although what's frustrating is if I had even just a small budget I could do so much with it. Paying for everything out of pocket affects all the work and spaces, it also stops you from being able to hire on any help and asking friends for free favors who are also artists can only go so far before you start using people.
Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
Definitely. I have made work about debt and limited by money, also the amount of mental stress it brings on has stopped me from making larger scale and expanding into what I believe would give me more freedom in my work. Also topics would be different and I'd be able to travel and do more mind expanding activities.
