Iconic woman whose gaze would turn men to stone. Mythology described her as being a beautiful woman who was raped by Poseidon and then transformed into this hideous creature by his jealous wife Athena. The ultimate victimization of a rape victim.
How did you get into debt?
Student loan debt accounts for 250000 and the other 50000 is for legal expenses and loans to try and bridge the gap of what I make and what I need to survive.
This image resonated of queen-like confidence and agency of a woman who is in control and self-assured.
How does your economic reality effect your art?
I have to work so much to survive, theres little time for painting...Art materials are so expensive, and I sell so little..
This is an image of Dita Von Teese...famous burlesque performer and activist. Her self-exploitation is a transgressive and freeing move to master her own destiny.
