Zahra H. Marwan

How did you get into debt?
Student loans, under employment and low sales of my art

How does your economic reality effect your art?
I study Flamenco part time and support my studies by selling my illustrations. I earn around $1,500 per month, which is a decent living wage in Albuquerque. Though, this is difficult to keep up when the weekly markets reach the end of their season in early November. Selling my work between November and March is arduous.

Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
Yes, I would be able to work on a larger scale and do more metal casting that is very expensive.
