William Boyd
How did you get into debt?
Nie Hao
The first way I got into debt was going to College
but I was supposed to have a full ride at my institution.
the second I got sick in 2009 and went to the hospital and did not have enough
insurance.
Third and this is going to sound bad but I was scammed, so I owe a bank money.
Third I owe and investor for going on a business venture to start franchise but it fell through so I still owe him 3,000.
not materiel but my mother got sick two years ago and a lot of my money went to supporting her and my father.
so its really trying get two people out of a ditch not just me.
How does your economic reality effect your art?
Ola Amigo
My economic reality affects my art in many ways
I try to be positive since I do not have a studio I create most of characters at home also I create videos at local library.
but really when I was going through bad time there were some kids who liked seeing them up close?
I had trouble getting my copywrite and patent and half to constantly worry
about infringing.
Uh my work is not safe, I lost all my original work in an eviction 9-26
so I am happy to pay rent or what I can to keep the new ones safe.
that's why I have made so many to feel whole again.
This might sound crazy, my reality does not affect my art because my
characters are living in their own dimension.
the ones that travel with me are protecting me but also observing our world.
Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
Ni Hao
Yes my work would look differently if I was not in debt
for one I could have applied for a loan to make better films
in order to possibly get contracted to create media.
I would have also have the freedom to travel to meet contacts
and would be able to purchase the things I need for impulse Ideas
for instance I want to create a fully functional Christmas tree with lights
but half to assist my father with lease.
