I feel as if I will always be in debt. I owe approximately 120,000 dollars for undergraduate and graduate education.
In the past I supported myself as art handler and artist assistant but recently I have developed my own alternative forms of survival from art and writing. I rely on both crowd sourcing, for the work I do as a writer, as well as a pool of a-typical collectors who buy works on paper at prices set at a sliding scale.
My studio is my small bedroom. Paints are whatever I can find or buy. The material of the work is both the opposite of an homogenized polished corporate reality as well as the result of my economic reality.
